The highly anticipated debut edition of Kotrell Live in Concert (KLIC) was a scene bursting with positive vibes as pure music and talent came to life. The event, which took place on Saturday April 7 at Bowen University, featured a plethora of musical performances as well as the grand unveiling of two brands. The KLIC stage was graced by some of Bowen’s hottest acts such as: Mallz, Viqq, Nuzi Dee, Veron, Hybeesolid, Jimi Jang, Deborah Tatama, a lot of entertaining acts and the man of the hour, Kotrell.
Kotrell is a 400 level final year student and president of the Economics department of Bowen University. Legally christened as Cottrell Antonopriya, his stage name, Kotrell, is an adaptation of his surname. Kotrell is an indigene of River State, Nigeria. He made his official debut track in 2016, with his hit track “Tic Toc”, which he followed up with, “Incredible” in 2017.
The show was organized and sponsored by some of Bowen’s top brands such as; The Art of Ade, Omololgo Entertainment, Cakes & Ribbons, Sisibola Mobile Kitchen, Joyce P, and many others. The main host of the event was the epic entertainer Black MC, and he was supported by the beautiful Esse Richards. The captivating duo kept the show lit throughout. The red carpet kicked off by 1pm before the stage was brought to life by a number of entertainers.
Sammie J kicked of the show alone with a thrilling acoustic guitar performance. He did a mash up of some popular tunes. Sammie J, a finalist at the 2017 edition of Bowen’s Got Talent, performed later in the show with the main star, Kotrell. Kotrell’s first performance was one of his latest songs called, “Calm Down”. He also performed with Jimi Jang which was followed by Jimi’s performed of his dope track, “E Go Be”.
Kotrell had the crowd at the edge of their seats when he announced there was a special lady he wanted to recognize and give a shout out to. It was later discovered that there was it was only a prank as Mallz joined him on stage for a superstar duet. Mallz, apart from his performance with Kotrell also performed some of his hit songs like, “Fakes” and also his lastest hit track, “Omalicha”.

One of the highlights of the show was the unveiling of two new brands; Cakes & Ribbons and Sisibola Mobile Kitchen. The two CEOs, Temitope Okunade (C&R) and Bolaji Olayiwola (SMK) gave their brand launch speeches: telling the audience what there brands were about. Another memorable KLIC moment was the special birthday given to the creative blogger, Stacy Ketiku, who turned 20.

The last guest performance was a cover of the Travis Greene song “You Waited” by the Mc’arios crew. The show ended with the entire audience on their feet as they all sang “Tic Toc” alongside Kotrell.
