Osayuware Osunde makes her Crown Series debut with Guest Crown Art #34. Guest Crown Art #34 is poignantly penned short story that documents a very interesting and honest experience. There is a clever plot twist at the end and a smartly penned account all through. Osa has shown herself to be a true writing mavin with this story, which is hopefully the first of many. Read and discover, read and marvel.

Title: The Stage
The lights , the cameras, the faces in the crowd – it’s scary and thrilling at the same time. She’s quivering but effervescent. She’s happy that finally people would get to see what she can offer, what she comprises of.
She’s all made up for the role of Sadiku in The Lion and the Jewel, (a play by Prof. Wole Soyinka). It’s been weeks; she’s been practising her lines. She’s been running them over and over: when she’s washing, she says them ; when she’s reading, she imagines adding more drama to her lines. She pictures the crowd being amazed by her performance.
~ SHOW TIME ~
She gets on stage and the lights are so damn bright that they get into her myopic eyes. Sadly she’s not allowed to wear her tinted Calvin Klein spectacles. The lights are so bright that they penetrate deep into her skin, making beads of sweat break on her forehead. This didn’t stop her mojo- she did it well by putting her best.
It hurt her that her parents weren’t in the crowd to watch her but deep down she felt she was making them proud. She felt good; it was the first time in a long time that she had felt this way and she felt quite fulfilled.
That girl was very happy. I was very happy.
