Car #1 – The G Wagon

The G Wagon

Hey guys, here is the first edition of Car Freakz. Car Freaks is dedicated car lover and even non car lovers but i bet you will fall in love with supercars after reading few episodes of Car Freaks.

On today’s episode, we will be talking about The Mercedes Benz G63 AMG, popularly known as The G Wagon. This ride is well known and we can say it is driven by high profile individuals.

I have been in Lagos for some days now and with the way I do see bros G around, i can tell its not only driven by super stars. Last night my uncle and I went out and we passed an area, not a high class area, and I spotted a G wagon parked. Upon seeing the car, my uncle’s comment was “In Lagos G wagon is for everybody.”

Away from the story, Let’s get down to business. There are different types of G class: G550, G63 AMG and G65 AMG. You can’t really get to know the difference from outside cause they all have the same shape. However, where the difference comes in is in the engine performance.

The G550 is made up of 4.0L biturbo V8 engine with 416hp and acceleration of 5.8secs, the G63 AMG is made up of 5.0L biturbo V8 engine with 563hp and acceleration of 5.3sec and finally the G65, the king in terms of performance has a 6.0L biturbo V12 engine with 621hp and acceleration of 5.2sec. It should be noted, however, that the performance engine does not really matter to most Nigerians. This is because what we want is to drive a G class and customize the plates.

That’s all for this edition! You can contribute on the next Car Freaks edition by telling us a car you think we should feature in the comment section below. Thank you!
